Back in December, Justin Bieber was targeted by Dana Martin in a plot to kill the star. New details have emerged and the audio tapes [LISTEN BELOW] of the phone calls between the ‘recruited killers’ have been released.
Police say Dana Martin recruited former fellow inmate Mark Staake, who in turn recruited his nephew Tanner Ruane and devised a plot to strangle and kill Justin Bieber and his bodyguard and then castrate them. This was all going to go down during a concert in November at the Madison Square Garden.
In the released audio tapes, Martin and Ruane are heard discussing a strategy in how they plan to murder Bieber. Martin mentions the purchase of “hedge clippers,” which are thought to have been intended to castrate the singer and his bodyguard, reports KOAT 7.
“Did he go over the Bieber thing with you?” Martin asked Ruane in a taped conversation he made from inside Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility, where he is serving out the remainder of his days. “Nah. The way I like to work dude, I like to know as little as possible,” Ruane said. “He’s gonna use one of the things you gave him, and then he’s gonna take care of it.”
The men used codewords, referring to Bieber and his entourage members as “pitbulls.” In another call, Martin can be heard telling Stakke to “kill the pitbulls and you’re going to castrate them.” The suspects requested $5000 for “each one we get,” meaning killed.
He’s also heard giving very detailed instructions on how to strangle Bieber with his signature paisley scarf saying, “Tie it really really tight. Knot it in the front once, really tight, put it in a knot.”
The whole thing was called off by Dana Martin, the one who seeked this plan out and turned Staake and Ruane into the police.
Staake was arrested in Vermont on his outstanding warrants. Later, New York police arrested Ruane and found the murder tools as well as pruning shears with him.
The two men are facing multiple charges in the alleged plot against Justin Bieber.

A couple months ago, we learned Justin Bieber was the apparent target of a foiled murder plot. In an update to that story, the audio, at times graphic, shows convict Dana Martin discussing the details of the strategy with Tanner Ruane, who would have carried it out. During the calls, which originated from the New Mexico prison where Martin is jailed, the pair talk about using “hedge clippers” — with Martin saying, “He was going to kill the pitbulls and you’re going to castrate them.” Pitbulls evidently referred to Bieber. He also discussed, in detail, suffocating Bieber with his paisley scarf. Martin is currently in prison for raping and murdering a teenage girl.
